The King’s Christian School is pleased to announce school will open September 9 with normal school hours, increased cleaning, frequent sanitation, and masks required. [Details of the Aug. 24 update]

Testing Updates

SAT Update ~ Registration for all SAT tests is open for all students. SAT will provide weekend SAT or SAT Subject Test administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new SAT administration on September 26 and a new SAT Subject Test administration for international students on November 7. [Free online resources  | More information]

The most checked-out books of all times

New York Public Library The New York Public Library, with one of the largest library collections in the United States, just published a list of its 10 most checked-out books of all times. Unsurprisingly, most of the books on the list were written for young people, and eight of the ten are available at our own libraries. So if you’re curious about what makes these books so popular, stop in and check out a copy.

Here’s the list of the titles we have available for loan along with the number of times they have been checked out from the New York Public Library :

  1. The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats: 485,583 checkouts
  2. The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss: 469,650 checkouts
  3. 1984 by George Orwell: 441,770 checkouts
  4. Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak: 436,016 checkouts
  5. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee: 422,912 checkouts
